The flights were very smooth and right on time. Poor Keylime got motion sick the last leg of the flight so she was physically sick the last 7 hours of the trip. Thank goodness it is loud in planes and the plane seats had very high backs. It gave us some privacy! Keylime was a great sport about it even as she was getting sick, literally, while walking through security during our layover in Japan. Sorry to all the people in the airport. What a sight they saw! I said all along this trip would give us some good memories.
Below is TieDye trying to sleep at the Tokyo airport. She looks comfy, doesn't she?
Our first meal in Singapore was an Asian place called McDonald's! How ironic to travel halfway around the world and eat Mickey D's. Made the girls happy! Tie Dye thought it was cool since they serve the fish sandwich for breakfast, which she had. Shout out to the H . . . family since we are supporting McD even from Asia!
We stopped in Chinatown for lunch. I decide to have Chicken & Rice, which is a terrific local dish. We find a food court that has all kinds of choices so I set out to get my lunch. Get it, pay for it . . . success . . . until I take my tray and go a few steps out of the food court to meet Mark and the girls. Apparently, I was in the section of the food court that was religious and you could not bring outside food in and you could not take your food outside. So my first official local meal, I spent eating alone while looking at my family eating a few steps away. It was pretty funny. BTW, I was watching my family eat Subway and Super Dog (that's right a restaurant with as many choices of hot dogs as you can image). I remind myself, we are taking baby steps. Thank goodness the people are nice!
I will post some initial pictures of our apartment today also. Check the "Casa" page.
