If you are happy and you know it . . . .

So it is time to answer the question of which food (from our Question of the week) is fake.  The majority of you picked that the Ketchup/Mayo potato chips were fake and a few picked the milk green tea as a fake.  Well, we've got news for you . . . you were all wrong.

We have seen Yam and Coconut Ice Cream (coming to a Schnucks near you soon!)

and Premium Milk Green Tea (BTW this was NOT in the refrigerated section!)  I am having flashbacks from grade school milk, warm, yuk . . . don't even get my started . . .

and Mayo and Ketchup chips.  So there you have it.

Ironically, the answer we made up was Prawn (Shrimp) Crackers and we did see those in Beijing
(after we wrote the question) but not in Singapore.
We have also seen Seaweed Pringles, Melon pudding, and honey goldfish!

Although, our top favorite comes from Ben & Jerry's with . . .
Although, one of us in the family (I am not naming any names) didn't find this one very funny!
No sense of humor, I tell you!

One more Beijing story:  on our last night there, we took a cab back to the hotel after seeing the Flying Acrobat Show.  We just grabbed the first cab we saw waiting outside the show.  It's late, we are leaving for Singapore early in the morning and we are all tired.

Once he starts driving, he begins to hum.  I recognize the tune but can't place it.  Then all of the sudden Mark and I bust out in song.  He is humming,  "If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands."  We help him with the words in English.  We teach him the "stomp your feet" verse too (you know, why not spread our musical knowledge internationally?)   So there we are singing, clapping, and stomping along.   Just think . . . international barriers can be broken with a little clapping.  United Nations, listen up here, I think we are onto something.   You know I have always been a big supporter of world peace and fun!

Then he starts humming the tune from "The Lonely Goatherd" from The Sound of Music.  You know the one that starts "There once was a girl in a pale pink coat, oh layee oh de-layee oh de-lay he-who . . . and she yodeled back to the lonely goat, oh layee oh de-layee odl-oo"  We are now all singing along (which in and of itself could have caused international trouble, M and I do NOT sing well.  And truthfully, I didn't even know the exact words when we were in the cab, just the tune.   I did the old "make-up the words to fit the tune as I see fit" version.)

Just to make sure you are following along, I am now in the cab version of Name that Tune.  He is partly singing in English and partly in Chinese.  As we are getting closer to the hotel he begins to serenade us with "Edelweiss."  It was fun to hear a Chinese man sing an Austrian song in English.  He then sings "Glory, Glory, Hallelujah."  As we are reaching the hotel, he bursts into "Jingle Bells."  What a hoot!   I can honestly say, I didn't want the cab ride to be over.  None of us did.  You wanted to see what else he would sing.  It was a great way to end our time in Beijing.  (Sorry no pics.  I just took video in the cab to get the audio of him signing instead.)

I will be posting a new Question of the Week so make your guess (it is located at the very bottom of the screen.)
